Sierra Business (Germany)

Where our clients require representation by a German qualified lawyer (Rechtsanwalt), Sierra Business (Germany) acts as a law firm and provides legal services accordingly. This includes advice on German law and on other jurisdictions with comparable legal frameworks.

Sierra Business (Türkiye)

Through our Turkish entity, Sierra Business ensures additional local capacity and operational support to meet increased client demand, while maintaining consistent quality, responsiveness and effectiveness across all assignments. We operate with a forward-looking approach and maintain the flexibility required to adapt to our clients’ evolving needs.

Founder

The founder of Sierra Business is Mahir Hamurcu, a German-Turkish dual-qualified lawyer, Chartered Insurance Practitioner (ACII), Chartered Linguist and trained Mediator. He has achieved the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (DipCILA) and is currently working towards Chartered Status (ACILA). In addition, he holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Law, a Professional Certificate in Risk Management in Banking and Finance, and has completed an executive MBA programme.

Following professional experience in Hamburg, Istanbul, Paris and New York, he entered the international reinsurance and insurance market in London in 2010, joining a specialist firm with responsibility for international liability insurance claims. In 2013, he moved to a leading insurance claims services provider, where he developed extensive experience in complex assignments involving financial institutions (in particular banks), security services companies, power plant operators and multinational corporations.

He has an established track record in high-profile market losses and continues to be actively involved in major international liability claims, including nominations on multiple liability accounts.
